MSI boosts its AM5 motherboard lineup with new GODLIKE X and MAX series

 motherboards

At Gamescom 2025, MSI unveiled its X870E MAX series of motherboards, boosting its AMD AM5 product line with new and improved models. This includes MSI’s 10th Anniversary GODLIKE motherboard, the MEG X870E GODLIKE X Edition. Only 1,000 of these Limited Edition motherboards will be made, all of which will come with a range of cool add-ons.

With the X870E MAX series, MSI are offering users boosted connectivity, larger BIOS chips, exclusive overclocking features and other improvements. This will make MSI’s MAX series great options for newcomers to AMD’s AM5 motherboard platform.

Meet the MSI Godlike X

The MSI MEG GODLIKE X Edition is built for world record overclocking. The motherboard features MSI’s Dynamic Dashboard III, EZ Link, and the M.2 XPANDER-Z SLIDER GEN5 with EZ Slide. Each motherboard will ship with a golden nameplate, Collector’s Stand, and Black Lucky plush. This motherboard is intended to be a high-end product and a collector’s item. If you want to buy this motherboard, expect it to be very expensive.

MSI’s X870E MAX Series

The MSI X870E MAX series features upgraded motherboard specifications and larger ROM chips. These larger ROM chips will make it easier for MSI to support more CPU models and features with their AM5 motherboards moving forward. This will become increasingly important as socket AM5 reaches the end of its lifespan. Note that AMD’s AM5 motherboards will support AMD’s next-generation Zen 6 CPUs.

With MSI’s OC Engine and Direct OC jumpers, users can have precise BCLK control, which is great news for overclockers. Additionally, all MAX series motherboards will feature 5G LAN, WIFI 7, and 40 Gbps USB ports. However, MEG-class MAX motherboards will take things up a notch with 10G LAN support. Furthermore, features like EZ PCIe Release and EZ M.2 makes the PC building process easier.
